Dear Weinstein Cardiovascular Development & Regeneration Community,

We are delighted to welcome you to the 2023 Weinstein Cardiovascular Development & Regeneration Conference from May 4-6 in San Diego, California!  Following up on the tremendous success of the 2022 Weinstein Conference in Marseilles, we are looking forward to gathering a dynamic international community of scientists, clinicians, engineers, and geneticists to discuss the latest data and ideas related to cardiovascular developmental biology and regenerative mechanisms.  

Building on the long-standing traditions of the Weinstein Conference, all of the speakers in our oral presentation sessions will be selected from the submitted abstracts, and all of these oral presentations will be delivered by graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early career faculty.  Poster sessions will provide plentiful opportunities for the presentation of additional abstracts.  Session topics will be shaped by the subjects of the submitted abstracts and are likely to cover a broad range of relevant themes, including experimental cardiovascular embryology, structural aspects of heart development, regulation of cardiac contractility and conduction, etiology of single ventricle defects, genetics of congenital heart diseases, mechanisms of cardiovascular regeneration, cardiovascular tissue engineering, cardiovascular gene regulation and function, and much more.  In addition to the oral presentations that will be selected from the abstracts, we will also be welcoming two vibrant Keynote Speakers to our conference: Dr. Xin Sun (UCSD), whose research focuses on the fundamental mechanisms controlling normal lung development and underlying the pathogenesis of congenital lung disease, and Dr. Hanna Mikkola (UCLA), whose research investigates the pathways regulating hematopoietic stem cell formation, self-renewal, and maturation.

Our conference venue, the Paradise Point Resort, will provide us with a comfortable opportunity to build strong connections within our scientific community: all conference sessions will be held on-site, and on-site lodging is available to conference attendees at a specially negotiated room rate.  We are excited to convene a diverse and interactive group of colleagues to share important scientific discoveries, celebrate the accomplishments of young investigators, and forge collaborations that will facilitate future innovations.
