The Congenital Anomaly Research Laboratory (www.stephanielindseyphd.com) is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to explore mechanotransduction in the chick embryo during key stages of cardiac development. The position is focused on using genetics and bioinformatics to uncover the molecular basis for differences in cardiac form and function following mechanical perturbation. The Postdoc will use cutting-edge techniques in developmental biology and bioengineering to uncover the physical and genomic drivers of cardiac morphogenesis. The methods used will include CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and RNA-seq transcriptome analysis.
Candidates must hold a doctorate degree and have relevant experience in molecular biology, genome biology, developmental biology, biomedical engineering, or a related field. The candidate must be open to combining experimental and computational work. The ideal candidate would be scientifically driven, curious, well-organized, and a self-starter. The ideal candidate would further have a record of presenting research results through publications as well as good interpersonal and communication skills.
